Silver Proof Tokens

Casinos throughout Nevada have from time to time, put out Silver Proof versions of their regularly minted tokens.  I have collected a number of these, and thought it would be a good idea to share this information with other collectors.

Some of these tokens are stamped with the works Sterling, or with .999 Silver.  Some have plain edges, and others have the same reeding patterns as the mint run tokens.  All are plainly Silver, but differ in how brilliant the shine is.  Some of these tokens were only issued to high rollers, others were sold in the casino.

I hope this page is useful and enjoyable. Click on the thumbnail of the tokens to view them.

I do have quite a few of these available for sale.  They are listed within the regular Nevada Tokens.

Cactus Jack's in Carson City issued a Sterling Silver token in 1979, minted by the Nevada Coin Mart Co.  As it turned out, there were actually three different types of tokens issued that year.  The first one does not have the .999 silver stamp on either side.  The second one has the .999 stamp below the Senator on the obverse side of the token.   The third type has the .999 stamp below the year on the obverse of the token.  These tokens are not reeded.
